Here’s peak at the weekend that was…
During the week last week Andy finished up the nursery “embellishments.”
We LOVE the way the crown molding, chair rail and wainscoting came out! Once again, I’m so thankful to have such a talented guy! Thank you! Poppy’s one lucky baby. I’ll reveal the complete nursery soon. (And I promise I haven’t forgotten about sharing Lauren’s “big girl room.” Check back tomorrow to see how it turned out!)
Anyway…since the nursery project is finished we decided to go ahead and add some “embellishments” to our dining and family rooms.
Our builder put in some nice trimwork when we bought the house, but we wanted to add a little more detail.
This weekend, Andy begin installing picture frame molding below the chair rail in the dinning room
and some 5-inch crown molding in the family room.
Lauren and I ran LOTS of errands while Andy worked. We also found time to try a new activity:
I saw this pin for Rainbow Soap Foam Bubbles last Friday and couldn’t wait to try them out with Lauren. She LOVES playing with soap bubbles in the kitchen sink, and I couldn’t resist the beautiful colors. (Although I think I have some room for improvement color wise… My lavender looks a little gray.)
I’d never used my Kitchen-AId for anything like this before…
And here’s our menu for this week:
Monday: Beef Fajitas
Tuesday: (leftover fajitas become) Quesadillas
Wednesday: Barbecue-Ranch Chicken Salad
This is a Cheesecake Factory knockoff recipe we like to make at home-salad topped with barbecued chicken, grilled corn, black beans, red peppers, cucumber, Mexican cheese, and avocados. Yum!
I’m going to go back to trying to put at least one “new” meal a week on our menu. I found all three of the dishes listed above on Pinterest (click the name for a link) and this week will be our first time trying them. I’m especially excited because I’ve never made a pork tenderloin before, and it’s a crockpot recipe. I had it “pinned” three separate times so I figured it was time I finally got around to trying it. I’ll share our results later in the week!
